About Andre Asselin

Andre started programming 35 years ago, when his older brother went off to college and stopped hogging their Atari 800. Andre worked at IBM for 20 years, contributing to a variety of products including the Internet pack for OS/2, device drivers and firmware for RAID systems, system management tools, and automated hardware testing. Andre is currently a Principal Digital Architect at PointSource, an agency with deep experience developing mobile apps for enterprise customers.

He has worked on apps for eCommerce, health insurance, Internet-of-Things, loyalty programs, and consumer lending. He currently leads the front end development group, mentoring engineers on his team.

Fun Facts:

  • Andre met his wife while performing in Neil Simon’s play “Come Blow Your Horn” in Durham, NC.
  • He plays ice hockey at the Carolina Hurricanes practice rink.
  • He went to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 16.
  • He has 8 patents issued.
